Flying Fortress in American Air Museum is marked as 51 air-raid veteran B-17G-35-BO, serial 42-31983, IY-G „Mary Alice“ from 615th BS / 401st BG based during World War 2 at Deenethorpe RAF station. But originally it is B-17G-95-DL, serial nr. 44-83735, which enjoyed a long civil career, first-time as NL68269 in 1947 with Transocean Airlines, Oakland, California and last-time as F-BDRS of Institut Geographic National of France at Creil. Into Imperial War Museum collection arrived in 1975.
