This aircraft was delivered to the USAAF during December 1944 as C-47B 43-49336. After the war it continued to serve with the USAF, and in 1954 was modified to a VC-47D VIP transport. About 1972 it was transferred to Chanute AFB, IL for use as an instructional airframe. It took on museum status in 1979 and is displayed at the Octave Chanute Aviation Museum.
