Built in 1944 as as C-47B 43-49615 cn 26876.
In December 1944 the plane was transferred to the US Navy, who re-designated the plane as an R4D-6.
In 1951-52 it was converted to R4D-8 (Super DC-3), with the new cn 43322
In 1962, with the new tri-service designation system, the plane was re-designated as C-117D.
