On March 13, 2009 E-8C 93-0597, assigned to the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, experienced a near-catastrophic fuel tank over-pressurization during aerial refuelling while on an operational mission out of Al Udeid AB. The aircraft sustained over $25 million in damage and is unlikely to fly again.
