Hi ,I was the original restorer of G-BLUZ. It took 4 years to restore and I flew it for 4 years before selling it to a group who now fly it from RAF Henlow.
I flew the Bee in the UK and in France to many locations. It always performed faultlessly.
It was fitted out with two cockpits not with radio control gear in the back as it was originally used.
The old fusalage was purchased from the Shuttleworth collection as a fusalage only, nothing else and was in a poor state. It took 4 years to find all the parts necessary to restore it to flying condition.
Its nice to have resurected an aircraft to flying condition especially as it is the only flying one of its type in the world.
Pathe News used to own one and used it as a camera ship on occasions. I think it now resides in a museum in the States.
If I can offer any more information on it to anyone then I would be pleased to do so.
Barrie Bayes.
