The ATC squadron N-6720 was allocated to was 1940 Sqn in Levenshulmem Manchester. I was a member of the squadron between 1983 and 1989 and the airframe was there for the majority of that time. We were attempting a degree of restoration on the airframe and had stripped the fuselage down to the frame which was cleaned, blasted and primed. The main wheels had been reattached to allow the frame to be moved in and out of the squadron building it was housed in.
