This aircraft was built as C-47A 42-24391 and delivered to USAAF on 9/15/43, being assigned to Oran, North Africa the following month. Assigned to U.S.12th A.F. Became surplus on 4/1/46. On 8/2/49 it became F-BEIG with SGACC in France and possibly also used by Air France. During 1979 sold to A. Auvray of Caen operating as Bretagne Air Service. WFU 1980. March 1981 leased to Normandie Air Services. It was named “Le Petit Prince” at Orly Airport, Paris 8/3/85. Sometime later the plane was purchased by Stellair TA, flying passengers and freight as late as 1988. (This information from Arthur Pearcy’s 1988 book, “Douglas DC-3 Survivors”)
