I worked on this aircraft back in 1973 - 75. I helped Jack Shaver remove the engine to remove the cyl. banks because of cracks in the heads around the valve ports. It was repaird and we put it back together with the help of a man named George whose last name escapes me, that was an expert in Merlins and the p-51. Quite an experience for a young mechanic at the time, especially the ride afterwards.
