In May,1980+- a bunch of Alaska Airline employees departed Anchorage to visit an orphanage in Vladivostok, Russia to deliver some employee donated goods for the kids at the orphanage. We stopped at Magadan, Yuzhno-Sakalinsk on Sakhalin Island before landing at Vladivostok. I'm not sure of the year but I recall that Dan Rempel was the Captain on the flight. I can recall that the runways in Russia were like the washboards of Grandmas laundry. The refueling trucks were ancient with small diameter hoses. We carried our own Alaska mechanic to handle any problems that developed. My wife worked for Alaska at the time in their SEA Boardroom. I have a printed Flight Plan for the trip but there is no year listed.
