This plane was constructed as C-47A 43-15553 and delivered to the USAAF on 4/9/44, and assigned the following week to the U.S. Air Transport Command. It was based in Norway on 4/20/45 and subsequently went to the Royal Norwegian Air Force as 43-15553 and coded “X”. On 5/24/45 it went to No. 20 Transport Flight. On 10/16/46 the plane was leased to Det Norske Luftfartselskap AS, registered LN-IAT and named “Norfind” on 10/9/47. On 12/15/47 the airline purchased the aircraft.. On 8/1/48 the plane was transferred to the Scandinavian Airlines System and named “Terje Viking.” The aircraft was then sold to the Royal Danish Air Force on 9/16/53 as K-682, going to Eskadrille 721 during 1979. On 3/3/83 the plane was leased to Bohnstedt-Peterson Museum for preservation in camouflage livery, being registered to the Museum on 2/21/85 as OY-BPB.
