This aircraft was involved in a midair collision with Piper Seminole VH-JQF in or just below cloud at approximately 4000 ft on February 19, 2020 near Mangalore Airport in Victoria. Both aircraft were conducting IFR training and were destroyed in the accident, killing the instructor and student in both aircraft
