Correction: Both airmen in the Vampire XH304 parachuted to safety. The Meteor WF791 occupants died as it crashed.

1972 saw the formation of the Vintage Pair display team by the Central Flying School with this Vampire and Meteor T.7 WA 669.

Sadly, the Vampire collided in mid-air wth the Meteor during a display at the Mildenhall Air Fete on August 21, 1986. The occupants of both aircraft were killed.
