XL161 was a Blue Steel trials A/C in the early 60's at RAAF Edinburgh Field in South Australia (SA). During on missile trial that went badly wrong the aicraft performed a supersonic stall over SA and jettisoned BS onto a beach in St vincents Gulf. Two fisherman illegally fishing on the beach got the fright of their lives when BS came careering past then. See the 4JSTU web site in OZ.
