Following a bird-strike in mid-air, ZE341 with 111 Squadron at RAF Leuchars made a safe emergency landing at RAF Leeming on January 5, 2011. As the Tornado F.3 fleet was being retired that year, it was deemed not cost-effective to repair the aircraft.
