While on a cross country flight in 1973,darkness (no lights on 246) necessitated an off field landing to spend the night. This was in the Oregon desert.

39246 @ JAQ - 246 at Westover in 1968-69 after it was recovered by its owner( a Calif Highway Patrolman) who wanted to learn to fly in it,but didnt. It is in front of the very frist hangar built at JAQ and for some time the only one. It was torn down long ago. - by S B J
